Dr Belinda Chapman is an applied research microbiologist with more than 25 years experience across the food, health and environment sectors, including for Arnott's, Burns Philp, Sanitarium, the CSIRO, The Sydney Catchment Authority, Vitramed, The Westmead Institute for Medical Research, as well as for the University of Tasmania and KPMG. She is an affiliate RHD supervisor of the University of Sydney and the University of Tasmania.

Dr Michelle Bull is an applied research microbiologist with more than 25 years experience across the food and health sectors, including nearly 20 years with the CSIRO. Michelle has worked with the food industry in Australia, Europe and the USA. Michelle is an affiliate RHD supervisor of the University of Sydney and the University of Tasmania. Michelle spearheads Quantal's research efforts in applied microbiomics.

Joining Quantal Bioscience in 2021, Mark Wilson is a research microbiologist with more than 20 years experience in microbiology, including with the CSIRO. Mark specialises in the identification of yeasts and moulds of importance to the food industry, and in undertaking challenge testing work for the food industry, for the establishment of microbiologically safe and stable products and processes. Mark also has a passion for science education in schools, and for sharing his expertise in mycology with the food industry.

Emma Winley is a horticulturalist and applied microbiologist with 20 years experience in postharvest physiology of horticultural produce and postharvest microbiology. Emma has worked for the NSW Department of Agriculture, the CSIRO, the NSW Food Authority, Western Sydney University and Applied Horticultural Research.

Dr Nick Coleman is a microbiologist with 30 years of research experience. He has worked in many areas including microbial ecology, molecular microbiology, and synethic biology. Nick has spent most of his career to date as an academic at the University of Sydney, and has also worked for the US Air Force and the Australian Genome Foundry at Macquarie University. His research interests include biodegradation, biocatalysis, biodiscovery, strain engineering, and plasmid biology.

Blake recently completed his Masters degree in Microbiology at Western Sydney University with Dr Tom Jeffries. Blake has a strong interest in Zoology, and a passion for science education and engagement. His Masters research combined all of his interests, studying the microbiome of iguanas, and building a Simulator of the Lizard Intestinal Microbial Ecosystem (the SLIME Project), for research, educational and science engagement purposes.

Sebastian Koestlin is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology at Western Sydney University, with a major in General Biology and a minor in Microbiology. He is deeply passionate about expanding his scientific knowledge across a wide range of fields and is dedicated to fostering a greater understanding of science through education.

Susannah is currently completing her HSC, studying food technology and art. She enjoys playing the flute in the school band and is now working to master the guitar. Susannah is learning all things laboratory management along-side her mentor Emma Winley, and is also Quantal Bioscience's own artist-in-residence.
