Inside our guts are amazing communities of gut microbes called the gut microbiome. The gut microbiome is very important to the health of all animals.
The microbiome of an animal responds to things like stress, a change in diet and many other factors we are only just learning about.
The Zoo of Poo studies the microbiomes of zoo animals to increase our research knowledge, help zoo keepers understand and improve care of their animals and educate the next generation of scientists.
The Zoo of Poo is aligned with Quantal Bioscience's vision of using the latest scientific innovation to cultivate our deep knowledge of important microbiomes that contribute to all of our life on land and life below water, while providing quality education that equips young people with the latest knowledge, technology and skills, and that model for them their entrepreneurial application, especially to the achievement of sustainable development goals, including these five Global Goals of the United Nations.
