Coming soon...  RESEARCH QUBE

Our RESEARCH QUBES are built using repurposed

Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) recycled from the Australian food industry.  Together, we turn these IBCs into powerful, hands-on field research stations for schools. Each RESEARCH QUBE connects students with real-world scientific challenges, from renewable energy to clean water, aligning with the NSW Science Curriculum for Stages 4 - 6 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The QLEAR WATER RESEARCH QUBE challenges students to design and test innovative systems for cleaning water. Using safe indicator organisms (supplied from our Qbug range of Class 1 microbes) and measuring turbidity students evaluate how well their filtration system designs improve water quality. This contained system allows authentic experimentation that connects directly to UN Sustainable Development Goals Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG6) and Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG11). Students gain insight into one of the world's most urgent challenges: ensuring human, animal and agricultural access to safe, clean water.

Develop new strategies to feed the future with the AGRIQULTURE RESEARCH QUBE, a hydroponic research system you can use to investigate the potential of biological fertilisers. Compare plant growth, nutrient levels and soil health under a range of treatment conditions, to learn if biofertilisers can reduce reliance on chemical inputs, supporting regenerative farming practices. This program is aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals Life on Land (SDG15 and Sustainable Cities and Communities (SG11), connecting food production and ecosystem sustainability.

Use your RESEARCH QUBE to construct a whole city of microbes - explore ecosystem diversity and dynamics as you watch your MIQROPOLIS grow! Use automated sensors, imaging systems and data streaming to track colour changes and community shifts over time, share your results with your whole school. You can even use your emerging microbial patterns to blend science with art! This program aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goal Life on Land (SDG15) and Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG11).

Use your RESEARCH QUBE to create a soil-based microbial fuel cell and discover how microbes can generate electricity as they break down organic matter. Gather your own data from your MIQROPOWERed energy plant, including voltage , current, pH, temperature, dissolved oxygen and microbial activity. Share your results with other schools. This program aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals for Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG7) and Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG11), emPOWERing students to explore renewable energy and waste treatment in action.
